This is a lightweight getting-started guide for first-time NrVPN users and anyone reconfiguring after switching devices. It covers only the steps required to activate the service and connect, without expanding on route protocols, region checks, or streaming-region behavior. For more on route types, native IP addresses, streaming access, or complex issues, read the Streaming Guide. For login, order, or connection problems, visit the Help Center.
Before you start, make sure the current device can access the NrVPN user panel and decide on your primary use case. For everyday browsing, start with a geographically nearby route. For content limited to a specific region, choose a route matching that region. If you are unsure, you can switch routes in the client after importing the subscription; there is no need to create another account.
Account setup
Create an access account
Open the NrVPN account creation page first. The service uses a username-and-password setup, with no email address required. Choose a username that is easy for you to recognize but not reused on other websites, and store the password separately instead of reusing one from a frequently used site. Submit the form when complete; the site will open the user panel or ask you to sign in again.
After a successful setup, you should see areas such as the account overview, plans, and client downloads in the user panel. The account is ready, but there is not yet an active subscription for a client to use, so do not search for installation packages or enter route parameters manually at this stage. Go directly to the Plans section so the account can obtain an active service.
If the original page remains open after submission, check that the username and password fields are complete, then read the specific message shown on the page. If the username is already in use, choose another and submit again. If you still cannot open the panel, avoid repeated refreshes or creating multiple accounts; visit the Help Center for account and sign-in guidance. Once this step is complete, keep your current username and password handy for signing in to the same panel on other devices.
Activate your service
Choose a plan and place your order
After signing in to the user panel, open the Plans section. NrVPN monthly subscriptions are based on data allowance: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB; data resets monthly on the activation date. Permanent data packages remain available until used and do not expire: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Compare more than the total allowance: monthly subscriptions generally suit steady everyday use, while a data package may suit irregular usage where you prefer to pay based on actual consumption.
After selecting a plan, the page will take you through order confirmation. Check the plan name, data allowance, and amount again, then choose an available payment method: Alipay, WeChat, or USDT. After payment, return to the user panel and wait for the order status to update. Normally, the Plans section or account overview will show that the service is active along with subscription details such as available data. All plans support unlimited devices and include 14-day no-questions-asked refunds. Multiple devices belonging to the same person can use the same account configuration, but keep the subscription link secure.
If the order status does not change after payment, do not create the same order again. Reopen the Orders section to check the existing record, then refresh the account overview to see whether the subscription has appeared. If the payment status and plan details still do not match, submit the order information through the ticket area in the user panel. When upgrading a monthly subscription, the price difference is converted into remaining days, so review the settlement details shown in the panel before confirming the upgrade.
Once an active plan is visible, this step is complete. Do not copy route names manually or configure servers one by one; NrVPN provides available routes to the client through your personal subscription link.
Get your configuration
Get your subscription from the user panel
After the plan becomes active, open the account overview in the user panel. Find the subscription section, which typically includes options to copy the subscription, import it into a client, or view usage details. Click Copy to place the link on the device clipboard. The link lets the client retrieve the routes assigned to the current account and receive future updates, so do not try to decode it or paste it into a public webpage, chat group, or screenshot.
To show what a subscription link looks like, the example below uses an explicitly fake value. It cannot connect to NrVPN and contains no real account information:
https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN
The actual link is generated by the user panel, so always use the copied panel content. If the client reports an invalid link format, return to the overview and copy it again, checking that there are no extra spaces and that no explanatory text was selected. Do not modify a real link based on the example, and do not search results for a so-called shared subscription to replace your personal link.
You do not need to close the user panel after copying. Keep the page open temporarily and open the client on the same device to complete the import; if pasting fails, you can quickly copy the link again. To configure another device, sign in to the same account on that device and copy the subscription from the panel. NrVPN does not limit the number of devices, so you do not need to purchase the same type of plan separately for each device.
Device configuration
Import the client on each platform
Now configure the client. On every platform, start from the Client Downloads section in the user panel, select the operating system, and get the NrVPN client or view the applicable import method. The public marketing pages do not provide static installer links; client access is available from the signed-in user panel. After installation, the essential import workflow is the same: paste the personal subscription copied in the previous step into the client, then update it.
Windows
Open the Client Downloads section in the user panel, select Windows, and get the applicable client by following the page instructions. After installing and launching it, look for an option such as “Subscription Management” or “Import from Link.” Create a subscription, paste the copied link into the address field, and give it an easy-to-recognize name, such as NrVPN. Save it, run an update, and wait for the client to display regions and routes.
If the list is empty after saving, do not reinstall the client immediately. Open Subscription Management, confirm that the address is complete, and click Update. Once routes appear, select one that is geographically nearby and return to the main screen to connect. Some Windows clients request system network permissions on the first connection; follow the system prompt and allow the required configuration. Otherwise, the connection switch may be on while traffic is not using the selected route.
macOS
Open the macOS client entry from the user panel and launch the client after installation. You can usually find “Add Subscription” in the menu bar, sidebar, or subscription settings. Choose to add it by link, paste your personal subscription, save it, and click Update or Sync. Once route names appear, the client has read the subscription correctly.
When connecting for the first time, macOS may ask you to confirm network configuration permissions. Complete the authorization in the system dialog, then return to the client, select a route, and connect. If the dialog is dismissed or authorization is incomplete, the client may not be able to establish a system-level connection. Check the related network settings in System Settings and restart the client. Do not edit system proxy details manually; use the client’s default configuration for the first connection.
Android
Sign in to the user panel on your Android device, open Client Downloads, and select the applicable client. After installing the app, open the import screen from the Add button on the home page or from Subscription Management. Choose “Import from Clipboard” or “Add by Link,” paste the subscription address, and confirm. Then run an update manually and wait until the route list appears in full.
When you select a route and start the connection, the system will show a network connection confirmation window. This is a required system step for the client to establish the connection. Confirm it and check whether the client status changes to Connected. If the route list updates but the connection does not respond, try another route and check whether Android is restricting the client’s background network activity. Battery management pauses are a device-settings issue; see the Help Center for handling them. There is no need to delete the subscription and start over.
iOS
First check the iOS client and import instructions in the user panel, then obtain the app through the panel entry. In the client, open the subscription or configuration page and choose to add by link. Paste your personal subscription, save it, and refresh the subscription to confirm that the route list appears. If the panel offers one-click import, first confirm that the target client is open on the current device, then allow the page to switch to it.
On the first connection, iOS will request permission to add a network configuration. Complete the system verification, return to the client, select a route, and connect. The setup is complete only when the system status area shows a connection indicator and the client shows Connected. If the old region still appears after changing routes, disconnect, select the route again, and reconnect. Close and reopen the page used for testing to avoid a false result caused by cached content.
Regardless of the platform, a successful import has two common signs: the client displays the route list supplied by the subscription and lets you run an update manually. Seeing only an empty subscription name does not mean the import is complete; return to Subscription Management and check the update result. To configure Linux or better understand client configuration structures, get the relevant entry from the user panel and read the Systematic Guide.
Final checks
Connect and verify the setup
After the route list finishes updating, choose a route that is geographically nearby or matches the region of the content you want to access, then click the connection switch in the client. During the first test, there is no need to cycle through many routes; allow the current connection time to establish normally. Once the client clearly shows “Connected,” open a previously unloaded webpage and confirm that it loads normally.
Next, visit the site’s IP Check page to view your current exit information. The goal is not to obtain a particular fixed address, but to confirm that the exit region matches the direction of the selected route and that the status changes when you disconnect and reconnect. If the client shows Connected but the result does not change, fully close the old browser page and reopen the check page. If it still does not change, disconnect in the client, choose another route, and test again.
After regular webpages load normally, check the service you actually want to use. Websites, AI Tools, and Streaming platforms assess region and network conditions differently, so one site loading does not mean that every region’s content will be identical. If a specific platform reports a region mismatch, first choose a route matching the target region and restart the relevant app. For details about the relationship between account region, payment region, and content libraries, read the Streaming Guide; this tutorial does not cover them here.
After verification, keep the current subscription name and remember where the client’s update option is. When the route list changes, update the existing subscription instead of deleting the client or purchasing another plan. When switching devices, follow the same process: sign in to the user panel, copy your personal subscription, import it on the new device, and verify the connection. Because data and plan status are tied to the account, you can check the account overview when using multiple devices.
These results mean setup is complete
- The user panel shows an active plan and subscription details.
- The client can update and display the route list.
- After a route is selected, the client status shows Connected.
- Webpages load normally, and the exit region matches the selected route.
If you get stuck, check backward from the step that failed instead of reinstalling everything from the beginning. For example, an empty route list points to a subscription copy or update issue; a normal list with no connection calls for another route and a permissions check; a successful connection with a region warning requires checking the route region and the target service’s regional rules. The Help Center organizes common issues by account, connection, speed, and billing, so you can jump directly to the relevant section.
